Welcome Party

Wedding

The day before our wedding was spent welcoming our family and friends from out of town! I’m so happy we did this party as it gave Austin and I time to meet the family/friends from each other’s side that we haven’t had the chance to meet yet. It was about half the guest count so we were able to talk and hang out with them without the fast speed the Wedding day usually has to offer.

Our main focus at this party was to mingle with friends and family so we decided to do a cocktail style party to allow just that! We rented out a restaurant in our home town called “The Waterfront”. It had ample space for moving around with the option to be outside or inside and the most delicious one-bite yet hardy food! We worked closely with The Waterfront staff and our wedding planner Summer to create the perfect experience for our guests.

My biggest request for the food was make it “instagramable” haha and boy did they do that! I think its safe to say the tasting for this event was one of my favorite parts of the whole wedding planning process. It was even better the day of!

Grilled cheese & tomato soup with a twist!
Oyster Rockefeller
Lamb Shank
Charcuterie board
Caviar
Desserts!

We also had an “action scene” where the Waterfront staff cut pieces of Beef Wellington. Everything was so delicious and I was so happy we were able to pull off cocktail style food but hearty enough to fill everyone up!

I had the best Glam Squad for hair and make up the whole wedding weekend! Etoilly Artistry out of Texas for hair and BeautyxSal and Make up by May out of Minnesota worked their magic for makeup! There are a million things you can worry about on your wedding but with this team I never had to worry about if I was going to look good!

Our boys looked so handsome in their suites

I can’t thank our photographer Valorie Darling and her team enough! They captured our wedding weekend so perfectly! She even got me and a couple of my girls in the bathroom for a quick bathroom-photoshoot because the wall paper was THAT good.

After the welcome party Austin and I said our last goodbyes as a non-married couple. Our boys had a sleepover with their friends. Austin and the guys went to our house for the night and the girls and I hopped on the bus and went to the cabin to ‘try’ and get some shut eye. I’m so thankful i had the girls and my mom with me that night as I was SO nervous and excited. I definitely recommend packing some melatonin because if you’re anything like me, sleep was hard to come by that night lol.
